I hate war movies. -_-
No offense to those who like 'em, i have nothing against what they stand for. It's just that, I hate seeing people running around getting shot. I know there's a whole "brotherhood" thing that endears people to these movies. There's also the fact that these are stories of real people. Things like that are taken seriously and on high regard. But on those times that I did get to watch a war movie (like tonight), I always get this feeling at the pit of my stomach. And I hate it.
Those scenes where the men move in holding their guns and shouting their asses off while tons of them get shot and bombed, blood and guts everywhere, they're not very nice to see. The scenes where they show a guy standing up, signaling to the rest of the troop, then something suddenly explodes and *poof* he's all over the place… It makes me sick. It makes me sick thinking about death… It makes me even more sick to think about theirs. It's sad and frustrating how more often than not, 80 to 90 percent of them die. It's heroic, yes.
But still… why revel in it?
