CYPRESS. What better way to conclude a night of art at MOA than to commute all the way to Cainta and drink! Indeed, that was an experience. From the time rhoda and I took the baclaran bus at MOA, to 7am the next day when i arrived home all puffy and wasted, it was one hell of a memorable night.
It was the first time i ever made it to my katokayo's birthday party. I've been invited twice before but i was never able to go. I really wanted to go this time to make it up to him, no matter how reluctant i was. See at first i got a little scared because i was technically going to be alone. I prayed my best friend would be able to make it but he really couldn't go, neither could niel and sheena. That kindof freaked me out a little bit. I mean, i knew everyone who was going to be there and i hang out with most of them too, but i've been so used to having atleast one of those three around when i do these kinds of things with college friends. It's like a security blanket for me to atleast have someone i'm really at ease with to be around when i'm getting ready to get wasted with people i don't normally get hung over with. I don't know if any of you get my point, but yeah, that was that.
I still went though… I experienced the tiring commute to alex' house with my pro-creator (i love psych!) friend rhoda. We were supposed to hitch a ride with chris and everyone, but unfortunately there was only enough room for one of us. We kept texting people for directions and sheila was kind enough to always reply. HOWEVER, sheila was also kind enough to give the wrong bus route from galleria. Yes, it was wrong. Imagine our shock when the bus turned right when we expected it to just pass the junction. We asked the conductor if they were going to pass the subdivision we were looking for, and surprise surprise, they weren't going to. But, they told us that they could drop us off on the way back.
Feeling all lucky and shit, rhoda and i sat back down laughing at ourselves. Thank goodness the bus line that we were on was on its last trip and was going back to the bus terminal which was right beside the subdivision we needed to go to. whew! No thanks to anyone though for not telling us that we could've just stepped off the bus at the intersection to walk the very, VERY short distance to our destination. -_-
After that we took a pedicab at the gate and enjoyed the crisp, cold air and the clear sky. You really don't see that many stars in Manila, so it was a nice treat. Too bad we weren't with our heartbreaker dudes instead… that would've made the date-ish ride even more memorable. ^_-
Well, after we got to the house it took no time for tokayo to get the party started. They took the big bottle of vodka out and started mixing! Unfortunately for me i listened to alex and downed the first glass in three big gulps. That made a mess of me early, and i could only get more wasted from there. True enough, many glasses of vodka, brandy, soda and water later — i was on the couch. If i didn't get in when i did, i knew the glasses would keep on coming and i'd risk being more seriously whacked. To think that at that point i couldn't walk straight anymore!
Miraculously, i was able to wake up for a while at around 3:30 am to get some fresh air, long enough as well to say goodbye to some of the guys who were heading home. A while more after that, we finally took our places on the floor, on the sofa and in the car for a much needed sleep.
So there… As i've said, i got home at 7am. Lots of interesting stuff went on behind the scenes with ze familia because of the whole overnight thing, but that's another story. :p All that's important is that i made it through the night in one piece, we all enjoyed tons of drunken laughs with each other, and that we were there for alex' birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ULET TSONG! Next year ule, you never know. ^_-
