While my head is being split open, i will blog about the highlights of my very "hectic and happening" weekend.

UP FAIR

After class last saturday, i went to meet up with candice and some of her college friends at UP Diliman. It was the UP fair and it was the "no saksakan day" so it was safe to hang out and go "sight-seeing." :p We stayed to chat in front of the educ building for quite some time before we finally managed to enter the fair. By then, all 5 of us were parched and terribly hungry… so much so that we probably made manong babba shawarma go crazy over our picky orders:

Mariel: Yung akin po walang kamatis.

Nicca: Kamatis lang po yung sakin.

Candice: Akin po sibuyas lang meron.

Leonor: Ako po sibuyas lang wala…

Ako: …hahah pareho po kami.

It actually shocked me how much rice there really was in that 50 peso worth shawarma rice. UMAAPAW! And in fairness, it was pretty tasty. None of us completely finished the meal though… puro mga walang gana at nalipasan na kasi ng gutom. Ang icky pa kasi may mga magsyota na naglalampungan sa tabi-tabi namin. ehck. Get a room! -_-

After the meal, our bladders forced us to make a short exit… or should i say a VERY LOOOOOONG exit. We walked back to where we entered [expecting to see that cute chinito guy stamping away at the entrance :p] only to find out that the exit was all the way around the fences, on the other side of sunken garden. THIS, then, forced us to walk an endless walk back to a building near educ [which was right across the entrance] just so we could pee. ehck. dugyut at ngarag na kaming lima sobra! We didn't even have enough strength to go back in right away. Especially since i was set to go home in less than an hour, the effort wasn't worth it at all.

All tired and sleepy, we sat to rest in front of educ again until i went home. Hay. It was fun hanging out with them. There was no hint of awkwardness at all. I've met nicca and mariel before, but it was the first time i hung out with them… and they were really welcoming and fun to be around. I'm glad didice found good friends in college. c:

HEROES

A couple of days ago while the guys were being guys, talking about guy stuff ( :p ), myks pulled out a dvd from his bag and offered to lend it to me. I didn't even ask, he just thought i'd enjoy it and that i should watch it. [I thought that was pretty nice of him by the way. c:] It was season 1 of this new series they've been hooked on lately, HEROES. The next day, he gave me the dvd for the latest 4 episodes of the second season… and i swore i would watch it over the weekend.

Sunday, i woke up pretty early considering i was dead tired from UP the night before. Jaren came over at aroud 10am and stayed until lunch. After she left, i started watching Heroes — 1pm. i finished all the 15 episodes i had, non-stop — 2am. [i paused only to eat pizza while watching the replay of Veronica Mars on ETC. :p]

I mean… WOAH. That was the shit right there! Aeo was right, Heroes is pretty fast-paced and it really keeps you glued. Watching it is like seeing a comic book come alive in front of you. [Well, it IS actually a graphic novel.] How the scenes are shot, how the characters are laid out, it's pretty cool. And it's not something you get tired of or anything… somehow even without super powers, it's quite relatable. Plus of course… Milo Ventimiglia's in it. :p [Jess and Rory for-evah!]

So there. That was the last couple of days for me… Right now i'm at home. I'm supposed to be in school but unfortunately, i am in no condition to leave the house. Like i said, my head feels like it's being split in two. Even more, my body's not really up for anything right now. It's just tired… really, really tired. -_-

It actually isn’t. Real comicbooks are way smarter than Heroes. It’s actually a TV writer trying to come up with a comicbook and missing quite a few points.

Nonetheless it’s compelling enough to keep me watching every week.

SIR! ehck. Napaghahalatang di ako palabasa ng comicbooks. :p Pero sobrang nagagandahan po talaga ako sa Heroes eh… iba kasi, bago sa paningin tsaka masarap panuorin.

It’s what people who don’t read comicbooks think comicbooks are like. It’s addicting but not exactly critically acclaimed.

Nakakainis lang when it tries too hard to appeal to nerds. Mr. Nakamura’s plate number is too obvious. Now Whedon, that’s a guy who knows his stuff. Kring strikes me as a poser.

Eh, but you take what you can.

Brian K Vaughn (who now writes for Lost) should jump ship and join Heroes. He can add a bit more intelligence to the writing.
